We started the
morning with the Shemah and a blessing as we drove along the Sea of
Galilee. We enjoyed a 9am boat ride on the Sea of Galilee where we
were led in worship by a a Messianic Jew. What a moving experience to
be floating in the quiet of the morning sea, singing praises to our
Lord! We were able to also see an ancient boat at Kibbutz Ginossar.
This is a 2,000 year old fishing boat discovered in the mud of the
Sea of Galilee that had been exposed when the lake receded after two
years of severe drought. Then on to Capernaum where Jesus lived
during much of his ministry in Galilee and where he performed many
miracles. We heard a lecture from Pastor Roy in the synagogue ruins.
We viewed the house of Peter...two stories below a Catholic Church
that was built 20 years ago.
On our way to
lunch we passed an ampitheatre ruins in Beit She'an, then passed a
kosher McDonalds (we did not stop!) and had our lunch of schnitzels
or flufles at a local fast food. Our guide, Boaz, called ahead and
the food was ready when we arrived. We don't waste any time...too
much to see to spend much time eating! On our way to

We hiked to the
top of a mountain...and when we got to the top we overlooked a whole
city ruins. This is located in Beit She'an, which has played an
important role throughout the history due to its geographical
location. Several impressive buildings have been uncovered, including
a pillar street with shops on each side, a mosaic tile walk, huge
theatre, and a public bath-house.
We stood on the
stage of the theatre and sang “Amazing Grace”...and then took our
group photo in the theatre rows! Impressive. Amazing!
