Monday's Adventures

We are sorry we having trouble keeping up with the blog. We have WiFi in our hotel, but I was unable to log-in last night...and decided sleep was the priority so as not to bee too tired to enjoy the Sea of Galilee tour!

Monday, May 12

We started at Masada, the desert fortress built by King Herod atop a natural plateau overlooking the Dead Sea. It is amazing...Google it to see all we saw! We continued north to Ein Gedi Nature Reserve, a beautiful oasis in the heart of the Judean desert. This is where David chose when seeking refuge from King Saul. Qumran was the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. We passed Jericho, the oldest city in the world, also described as “City of Palm Trees”. Not far away is where the Israelites crossed the Jordan River and where Jesus was baptized by John. We had a baptism service and many of our group were baptized! The river was muddy from a recent rain but it did not deter them! It is amazing to be there...and just on the other side...it is not very wide...is Jordan! We checked into our hotel on the shore of the Sea of Galilee! We are pinching ourselves...we are actually walking where Jesus and others from the Bible walked. What a gift!!!
